Following My Bliss

I believe it was Joseph Campbell who said, "Follow your bliss".

As a Law of Attraction coach, I call it finding a way to feel good now.

Well today's post is about how I followed my bliss and practiced feeling good now.

I usually like to write my blog posts on Sunday as soon as possible.

My shop is closed on Sundays and that's the day I do all the things I need to do around the house, but first I like to get my weekly blog post written.

One Sunday a few weeks back, as I was out for my morning run, I realized it was going to be a beautiful day.

I thought about how much fun it would be to just call up my Sweetie and head out for a leisurely hike and enjoy the sunshine and blue skies. I spend a lot of time indoors, running my shop, and since winter is on the way, the thought of spending the whole day outdoors in the sunshine felt like bliss to me.

The more I thought about it, the more tempting it became.

I had a brief moment of indecision when I thought about my blog, and my housework, and wondered when I would be able to find the time to sit down and write something, especially since I still had no clue what I would write about and I always like to write something that feels inspired.

I decided to practice what I teach, and that is, to do what feels good now, go out and play, and trust it would all work out.

So I called up my Sweetie and he said he would pack us a lunch and come by and pick me up within the hour. (By the way, my Sweetie makes awesome sandwiches, too).

We headed out to a nearby lake, stopped for a cup of coffee, ate our lunch, went for a hike, and sat on a log in the woods enjoying the sunshine. It was such a beautiful day.

When I got back home later that evening, I still had no clue what I was going to write.

I turned on my laptop and picked up a notebook laying beside it and when I opened it up, there was a whole blog post, title and all, in my handwriting, that I had no recollection of ever writing.

I read it and thought, I love this, this is the perfect thing to write, when did I write this? Did it magically appear? I have no clue, but it definitely felt inspired. I easily typed it up and scheduled it to post.

How's that for following your bliss?

Find ways to follow your bliss, to feel good now.  Trust me, you'll be glad you did, and expect good things to happen.

Until next time.

Love and Luck.
