Play at Feeling Good!

Have you been working really hard at manifesting your desires and nothing seems to be happening?

It happened to me.  A couple of weeks ago, I found myself whining to my coach, "I am so tired! I have been working really hard at manifesting my goals, and nothing is happening! In fact, everything seems to be getting worse."

My coach gently reminded me that it is not my job to work hard at manifesting my goals.  My only "job" if you want to call it a job, is to find ways to feel good now. Duh!  I knew that. I am a law of attraction certified coach. I had just gotten so attached to my goals, and was so busy working at it that I'd forgotten.

Right then and there, I shifted.  I went from feeling like I was pushing the boulder uphill every day, to laughing about my memory lapse.

I decided to make my motto:

I am playing at feeling good and letting the Universe do it's job.

What a relief! I felt better instantly.  I wrote it out on a note card as a reminder.

Then, I began playing at feeling good.  If visualizing or imagining felt good, I did it.  I only used any of the manifesting tools if it made me feel good, right now. I found myself playing with some of the processes in "Ask and It is Given". I  found myself flowing lots of appreciation just because it felt so good.

Within 48 hours delightful manifestations started showing up:
  •  I had the most profitable Saturday at my shop in over five months.
  •  I received a phone call that a $71 medical bill was being written off.
  • A man came into my shop and handed me a $50 bill and said he wanted to repay me for some merchandise he had stolen as a kid over twenty years ago.
  • I found $47 lying on the sidewalk.
  • Received a $2 bill in a St. Patrick's Day card.
And so it goes.  The more we deliberately choose to feel good now, the more we align with the magical manifestations the Universe has lined up for us.

After all, the reason we desire something is because we believe we will feel good when we get it.

The Universe is always responding to our current vibration. So, if we can find a way to feel now the way we think we will feel then, we become vibrationally aligned with our desires. We allow the Universe to manifest them.

Until next time,

Increase Your Luck by Taking Action

As a Law of Attraction student and coach, I always recommend getting vibrationally lined up with your desire first.

This can be done by getting clear about what you want, imagining and scripting your desire. Speaking, writing, or hearing, your affirmations, acting "as if", and most importantly, feeling the way you want to feel, or expect to feel when you have your desire, right now.

However, after getting into vibrational alignment, if you really want to increase your luck, start taking action.

I can visualize all day long about being a great drummer, but at some point I have to pick up the sticks and start playing.

I can script about how awesome sales and profits were last month at my retail shop, but I have to show up, be open for business, and buy and sell the goods. (Or at the very least arrange for someone to do it.)

Getting into vibrational alignment first, can make taking action much easier. One of the outcomes of vibrational alignment is feeling inspired, or suddenly knowing what action to take.

Taking action, even inspired action, is not always easy.  It can bring up all of our fears and self doubts, but take action anyway.

When I felt inspired to write, it was scary. I had never written anything for anyone else to read, ever, but I had to pick up the pen, and start writing, and move through the self doubt.

When I needed a ride and an Angel showed up to give me one, it was a miraculous manifestation, but I wasn't just sitting in my home imagining myself riding to my shop, I was on the street walking in that direction, and asking for one. I was taking action.

When I decided I wanted to take some trips, I felt inspired, and started entering sweepstakesPeople say I'm just lucky, but what I really did was align with my desire, and take action.

When we start taking action, it shows we are committed, it says to the Universe  that we are open and ready for our desire to show up.

Knowing what you want and getting into alignment with it is the first step, but if you really want to increase your luck, start taking action.

Until next time, here's to your Lucky Life!

Increase Your Luck with Affirmations

"We must affirm that we are already that which we hope to be and live as though we were, knowing that our assumption, though false to the outer world, if persisted in, will harden into fact."
Neville
I have heard people say that affirmations do not work.

We are using affirmations every day whether we realize it or not, and they are always working.

Every time we say "I am..." such as "I am unlucky, I am broke, I am overweight, I am sick, I am lonely, I am sad, I am always running late, I am a failure", etc., we are affirming to the Universe and ourselves, exactly what we are and the Universe just sends us more of the same to confirm it.

There is the argument that those affirmations are things we accept as true about ourselves, and therefore that's why they work, and I agree.

Whereas positive affirmations such as "I am lucky, I am successful, I am healthy, I am happy", may not be true and that's why they don't work.

In other words, we must be able to affirm as true, what we desire, in order for it to become true, for us.

"That which we will not affirm as true of ourselves cannot develop in our life"
Neville

Here's a little process I use when an affirmation brings up doubt or resistance, to create affirmations that I can accept as true for me.

Whatever affirmation I am going to begin using, if I affirm it and it brings up resistance, or it doesn't feel good, I ask myself am I willing to be that? Am I willing to be what I am affirming as true? Am I willing to imagine myself in the end result, already being, doing, or having what I desire? If not, then why not?

This helps me become aware of negative beliefs attached to my desire that may be holding me back and work through them.

This also helps me create a new concept of myself, of being what I desire to be because it is our concept of ourselves, what we decide is true for us, that determines our present and our future.

Then I start with the affirmation..."I am willing to be..." and that feels good.

Meanwhile I am spending time each day imagining the end result, assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled, imagining myself already being, doing, and having accomplished whatever I desire and that makes it easy to affirm it.

Imagination creates reality, and if you've imagined it, you've gotten the concept of yourself being it, so speak it forth with confidence, "I am ..." .

Increase your luck, with affirmations.

Until next time,

Control Your Reactions and Increase Your Luck

We have the power to control our reactions to events, and in doing so increase our luck.

Neville says,  "Your reactions, whether positive or negative, are creative of future circumstances".

As I understand it, what this means is, whenever something happens, it is our reactions to the event, that is creating our future.

In other words, the way we react, is the way we feel, and what we are feeling is what we are vibrating and attracting or creating more of.

Furthermore, we can control our reactions, if we take a moment to remember that each and every event doesn't mean anything in particular, it only means what we are imagining and believing that it means.

I had an experience that reminded me of how true this is.

Last summer, Sweetie and I set out on a 125 mile road trip to see Billy Joe Shaver in concert.

We left a little early so we would have plenty of time to get to the venue, find parking, and perhaps enjoy a meal before the show.

About an hour into the trip the air conditioner suddenly stopped working and the engine started overheating in Sweetie's auto. (Not good when the temperature is about 90 degrees and you're still about 70 miles from your destination.)

Luckily, within minutes we saw a rest area and pulled in with smoke coming from under the hood.

Now our first reactions could have been really negative.
  • Fear that we were stranded
  • How would we get it fixed?
  • Was it even fixable?
  • How much would it cost to fix?
  • Were we going to miss our concert?
Instead, we chose to react positively with thoughts like:
  • We were lucky there was a rest area so close
  • Wonder how close the nearest garage and tow truck service is?
  • I wonder if the towing service takes AAA.
  • It's good we left early, we could still make the concert.
While Sweetie was looking under the hood, I went into the rest area and asked where the nearest town was.  Within minutes I had contacted a garage with a tow truck and they were on their way to pick us up.

Even though the driver informed us they no longer took AAA, I decided not to worry, I informed Sweetie I had some sort of road service on my auto insurance that covered towing bills. I was just happy we were being towed to the garage to get our auto fixed.

Once there, they informed us it was just a hose, they could fix it and have us back on the road soon. The owner told us we were lucky we called when we did because they were just getting ready to lock up and go home.
Enjoying a cool beverage while waiting.

In less than 45 minutes from the time it happened we were back on the highway headed to our show.  The bill was $160 ($80 for the tow and $80 for the repair job), and cash only, but once again we chose to be happy that we just happened to have enough cash.

We arrived in time to still have a good BBQ dinner, the concert was really fun, and I even got to meet Billy Joe Shaver afterwards.
Billy Joe Shaver and Lucky Kathleen

All the way home late that night we kept counting our blessings.  We were so lucky it happened where it did and when it did.

Some people might say, if you were really lucky, it wouldn't have happened at all, and it cost you $160.

The truth is, things happen all around us every day and as I said, I believe how we react is sowing the seeds for how things turn out.

My auto insurance reimbursed the $80 for the tow bill, and a few months later Sweetie's insurance said the whole incident was covered and sent him a check for $160, so we actually came out $80 ahead. How's that for lucky?

So, the next time some "unlucky" event happens, control your reactions. Look for something to feel good about in the event. Even if it doesn't change the current situation, you will be sowing the seeds for good stuff to come your way and before you know it, you'll be feeling lucky too.

Until next time, here's to your lucky life!

A Sign of the Hummingbird in Albuquerque

In honor of Father's Day coming up this week, I thought I would honor my father and share another sign of the hummingbird.

My Dad passed over in 2006 but as I've mentioned before, I truly believe we can still communicate.

I got my love of travel from my Dad.  I have wonderful childhood memories of stocking the cooler, packing the fishing rods, and heading out on the back roads of West Virginia to go fishing, camping, horse back riding, and just seeing the sights.

Along with stopping to see every roadside attraction along the way, my dad was always pointing out the beauty of nature, from the flowers to the sky.
Dad & me fishing
I seemed to have passed on the love of travel to my daughter, and a few years ago, she and I took a trip to Albuquerque to see the sights.
My daughter and I in Albuquerque

At the Petrogylph Monument in Albuquerque

When we went to see the Petroglyph Monument, I was so overwhelmed with the beauty of nature, the rocks, the blue sky, the cacti, that I turned to my daughter and said, "I wish my Dad were here to see this, he would love it."

At that moment a hummingbird came right up to my head and began buzzing right beside my ear.

My daughter said, "OMG, what is that?"

I said, "It's Dad!  He's letting me know he is here, he does see it and love it."

I love you, Dad. Happy Father's Day.

Until next time, here's to your lucky life!

Imagine It and Change It

I once wrote a post about how fast things can change, and I had another reminder of this recently.

I've been having a lot of fun lately finding coins throughout my day, but one morning while lying in bed I realized I had not found one cent while running since I moved to my current home over eight years ago.

As I pondered this, it seemed a little odd since I used to find money while running, especially pennies, quite frequently but hadn't found anything since I had changed my route.

Why not? Was it something I was believing, thinking, imagining?

So I asked myself, what am I thinking and believing?

Well, I had changed my route and now I run on an actual running/walking path, maybe that's it.

I also realized I had the thought that I hadn't found anything in over eight years and that suggests I am not going to find anything.

If "the whole vast world is myself pushed out" as Neville says, then it is me.

So I instantly decided to let go of those facts and beliefs and take a few moment to imagine myself finding money while out running.

I then went about my morning and went for a run, never giving another thought to finding money.

As I was just about to finish my third mile, I look down, and there on the path, was a dime.

Coincidence?  I think not.

After 8 years of not finding one cent, I spent just a few moments imaging finding money while running and I find a dime within an hour.  I love it!  I have since found more change.

If you want to change something, or increase your luck, as I call it, why not take a few moments to imagine something different.

It can change things, fast.

Until next time, here's to your lucky life!

Create Your Own Lucky Life

Do you live a Lucky life?

How do you define a Lucky life?

Things that make me feel lucky, like finding pennies,  or winning a sweepstakes, may not mean a thing to you.

What would make you feel Lucky?

You can create your own version of a Lucky life, but you, and only you, can decide what your Lucky life looks like, and everyone's looks a little different.

Knowing what your version of a Lucky life would look like is the first step in creating and manifesting it.

Here is a process that I do each day that keeps me focused on feeling lucky.

Each morning I ask myself what would make me feel lucky today?

My list varies but it may look something like this:
  • go for a run and feel good
  • spend time with my Sweetie
  • see a rainbow
  • skype with my Daughter
  • receive some easy money
  • finish a task at work
  • attending a great concert
  • enjoying a good cup of coffee
  • meeting a sales goal
  • receive some flowers
  • paying all the bills in full for the day, or week
  • going for a walk in the woods

I'm sure you get the idea.  I choose things that make me feel lucky.  They can be "big" or "small".

Then each evening before going to bed, I write down all of the evidence.

Evidence that supports my belief that I am living a lucky life, right now.

The Law of Attraction says that whatever I am giving attention to and putting my focus on is what I will attract more of.

In other words, the more ways I find to activate already feeling lucky, I am attracting ways to feel more lucky.

Ask yourself what would make you feel lucky today, and make a list.

Then, each evening, keep an evidence log, and it won't be long before you begin to attract more things and experiences that make you feel lucky.

Until next time, here's to your lucky life!

Hold on Tight to Your Dreams

 "Hold On Tight"

Hold on tight to your dream
Hold on tight to your dream
When you see your ship go sailing
When you feel your heart is breaking
Hold tight to your dream.

It's a long time to be gone
Time just rolls on and on
When you need a shoulder to cry on
When you get so sick of trying
Just hold tight to your dream

[CHORUS:]
When you get so down that you can't get up
And you want so much but you're all out of luck
When you're so downhearted and misunderstood
Just over & over & over you could

Hold on tight to your dream
Hold on tight to your dream
When you see the shadows falling
When you hear that cold wind calling
Hold on tight to your dream.

Jeff Lynne

Have you ever had a desire or a dream in mind and you feel like you've done everything you can do to move toward it, vibrationally and physically, and it still doesn't seem to be happening?

One of the biggest challenges can be keeping the faith, or holding on tight to our dream when it looks like it just isn't happening.

Keeping the faith, believing what we say we believe, that we really do have the power to create our lives, and trusting that when we have planted the seed, the Universe will bring about the harvest.

I was feeling discouraged recently about a goal I've had for a couple of years and my Sweetie, in an effort to cheer me up, started giving me a foot massage and just talking about things in general, when he reminded me of a dream that looked like it was never going to happen, but it did.

I felt inspired to tell you my story.

As I've mentioned before, I have owned and operated my own retail shop since 1980.  About seven or eight years ago, I noticed the sign on the front of my shop was starting to look really faded and worn.  It had been repainted a couple of times over the years but was really not in good enough condition to be painted again.  It needed replaced. So I decided I would get a new sign.

Have you ever priced a sign?  Well, I am here to tell you, even the least expensive ones, are pricey.  Then there is also the cost of installing it, or hanging it, but I had decided it was time, I set my intention to get a new sign.

I actually had a really good customer that came in regularly, and his family owned the biggest sign shop in town. Right after I decided to get a new sign, he came in one day and mentioned that he thought I could use a new sign.  I agreed and told him I had just decided to get one.  He said he would come back, measure it, and give me an estimate.

Wow, how lucky is that?  Evidence that the Universe was already working on it.

Each week goes by, he keeps coming in to shop, mentions he will come back to measure, and yet, the weeks, then months, keep going by and he eventually never comes back. I keep the faith, I'm getting a new sign.

In the meantime, another guy comes in and mentions I need a new sign, asks if he could take some measurements, some photos, draw up some sketches and bring me an estimate? Just what I needed and I didn't have to go looking for anyone.  He takes the measurements, the photos, and my phone number but I never heard from him again.

Not long after, another guy came in and said, "looks like you need a new sign, I'm a sign painter, can I bring you back an estimate?"  You guessed it, never heard from him again.

By now, it's been at least another year, the sign is looking more faded.

A stranger stops in front of the shop one day and says he can possibly get me a new sign for $7800.  Ouch! He never returned with any designs.

One day while talking with my Sweetie about my dream of getting a new sign, he asks me, just what do you want your sign to look like.  So right then and there I told him what I wanted and he designed the sign on paper and then on the computer.

I now knew exactly what I wanted the sign to look like and I had an image of it that I put on my screensaver and I would tell customers, that's my new sign.

Each day as I came to work, I would look up and imagine I was seeing my new sign, and it looked so good!

More months go by and a man comes in and mentions he used to come in as a kid years ago, says how happy getting to come there made him, and that he would love to "gift" me a new sign. Seems he was now a business owner himself and could easily afford it.  Awesome! He gave me his email address to send him my design.

A couple weeks go by and he replies that he didn't like my design, how about his design instead.  When I replied thank you, but I love my design, I never heard from him again.

By this time, it feels like the Universe is just teasing me. It was discouraging. I really didn't have the money to just call up a professional sign company and order it. My customers were probably tired of hearing me say I'm getting a new sign soon, but I didn't give up on my dream. I just kept looking up and imagining my new sign already installed as I arrived every day.

Five years and five "offers" later, after setting my intention to get a new sign, Sweetie and I went to a little Christmas get together with some friends, and as we are exchanging our gifts, one of Sweetie's friends says he had to run outside to get my gift.

Imagine my complete surprise when he hauls in to the foyer my new 8 foot sign exactly as I had pictured it, and it was a gift.

Even though he lives 400 miles away, he had seen my old sign and told my Sweetie he was going to make me a new one, at his sign shop.

My dream of a new sign took over five years but it did happen. I got a sign that costs several thousand dollars, free, and it was exactly the sign I wanted.  I also got it installed for free.

Some dreams and desires take longer to manifest than others but don't give up.  In the words of Jeff Lynne's song, "Hold on Tight" to your dream!

Until next time,

Here's to your Lucky Life,
Lucky Lady

Can Our Loved Ones Communicate with us in Dreams?

Do you believe it's possible to communicate with loved ones who have passed on?

My father passed away several years ago and before he died I asked him to send me a sign of a hummingbird if he could hear me when I talked to him. (You can read the whole story here.)

I really love synchronicities and I try to always write them down.  I came across this one in my journal today and thought I would share it with you.

The following events all happened within a 24 hour period.

On the anniversary of my father's passing, I told him how much I missed him, loved him, and would love to have a sign from him, (the hummingbird), to show that he could still hear me.

That evening my Sweetie returned from a trip he had been on with a friend, and presented me with a hummingbird air freshener he saw in a convenient mart on the way home.

When I told him this was the anniversary of my father's passing, and I considered it my "sign", he said he had no clue today was the day.

The next day, a gentlemen came into my shop and began telling me that he had heard somewhere about people who have had their deceased loved ones come and talk to them in their dreams.  He had been dreaming of his son, who had passed away recently, and he wondered if his son was trying to tell him something. He came to ask me if I believed this was possible.

I told him that I have had dreams in which my father appears, many times, and yes, I do believe he communicates with me.

That evening, as Sweetie was preparing our dinner, I casually start reading the latest issue of Woman's World magazine, and in it was an article by Doreen Virtue about a man named Jackson whose father communicated to him in a dream. My father's name is Jackson so Jackson is my maiden name.

Then, after dinner, Sweetie and I start watching our next episode of Northern Exposure, and the character Joel, falls asleep in the freezer at Holling's bar, and dreams his father and great grandfather are talking to him.

How's that for synchronicity? Do you believe we can communicate with our deceased loved ones?  Has it ever happened to you? Please share your story, I'd love to hear it.

Until next time,

Love and Luck to you.

My Christmas Miracle

Christmas 2007

This is the story of my Christmas miracle. It happened quite a few years ago and I thought I would share it with you.

The first Christmas in our new home, my daughter and I went out and purchased a "real" Christmas tree.

As we were putting it into the stand, it fell over and stabbed me in the eye.  My eye immediately began to water and spasm in pain and I couldn't see properly.

It throbbed all day and night. By Sunday morning my eye was swollen, wouldn’t open properly, I couldn’t see properly, and was so painful.

I felt miserable and afraid that it would never stop hurting, never heal, and that my vision was permanently damaged. I did not have any insurance, nor did I have the money to go to the ER. I was feeling very discouraged.

As I was showering, I became aware of what I was thinking and how much fear I was feeling.  Right then and there, I examined each fearful thought and as I did, I let go of each fear and replaced it with a positive affirmation. Instead of thinking, "What if my eye doesn't heal?" I would think "My eye is healing right now", and I gave thanks that my eye was healing.  This change in my thoughts made me feel better and throughout the day I kept saying "my eye is healing, I can see clearly, thank you for healing".

My Sweetie came over to check on me and asked if I would like some energy on my eye.  Sort of like Reiki. I said, "yes", and he put his hand over my eye.

The energy was so powerful, my eyeball began to throb painfully but immediately began to feel better.

When I woke up on Monday morning, my eye was totally healed.  All that was left was some swelling of the eyelid and I could see clearly. I felt so much gratitude and joy, and I still do.

I learned to let go of fear and trust that my eye could heal and believe it was healing. To believe, have faith and trust, that all would be well even when it didn't look or feel like it.

To turn my thoughts from what I didn't want, to what I did want.

I feel very blessed, and lucky.

Until next time.
Love and Luck,
Lucky Lady
