Does anyone remember Amway?

A few weeks ago, I was thinking about reordering some of my vitamins and all of a sudden I thought of, or tried to think of, that company that was all the rage back in the 80's, and when I say "the rage" I mean, it seemed like everyone was talking about their products and/or was an authorized distributor.

Back to my story, when I thought of them, I just couldn't recall the name of the company, no matter how hard I tried.  I even asked a few people and got a few strange looks.  No one could tell me their name. Periodically, throughout the day, I kept trying to remember it. Who knows why, have you ever done that?

As I have mentioned before, my Sweetie and I enjoy watching older movies, and we were currently trying to watch the various movies starring Bill Murray. We had ordered a copy of one called, Quick Change, and the mailman delivered the DVD I had ordered, that same day.

I sent Sweetie a message and told him our movie had arrived and we made plans to watch it that evening.

Sweetie sent me another message telling me that the bank, just two blocks from my shop, was currently being held up. The whole block was surrounded and barricaded.  It was biggest excitement in town in years!

So that evening, after dinner, we start watching our movie, Quick Change, which is about three people robbing a bank! (Bill Murray's character being one of them).  How's that for synchronicity?

Then, the character played by Geena Davis, suddenly mentions Amway.

I got so excited.  The very information I was trying to remember, all day long, and there it was, in the movie.  I asked Sweetie, does Amway even exist anymore?  Are there still Amway distributors?  I hadn't heard anything of them since I was a teenager. Of course I didn't really need the answer, I was just curious.

Three days later as I am on my way to my shop, a car pulls up beside me at a light.  I look over, and low and behold, there on the side of the car is one of those magnetic signs advertising Amway!
Once again, it just goes to show, that whenever we give pure thought to something, anything, whether wanted or not wanted, important or trivial, the Universe begins manifesting it in our reality.

What a wonderful power we have to manifest our desires. I love it!

Until next time.

Increase Your Luck, Do Something Different!

Increase your "Luck" by doing something different.

That's right, break up your routine, shake things up a bit, do it differently, or do something different.

Sometimes we get into such a rut, and I am just as guilty of this too, but we continue to do the same things, in the same way.

We do this for many reasons, such as:
  • this is way we learned to do it
  • everyone does it this way
  • it's comfortable
  • it's the quickest or easiest
  • it's a tradition
  • we are too old to change now
  • it's economical or less expensive
  • lack of energy or motivation
No matter what our reason may be, we can find ourselves stuck in a rut.

A great way to increase your "luck" and open yourself up to new possibilities and opportunities is, to do something different, or, to do whatever it is your doing, differently.

This can be as simple as brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand which is said to increase willpower.  Who would have guessed?

Some other ways to shake things up and improve your luck are:
    • driving to work a different route
    • going to a restaurant your normally wouldn't
    • joining a study group or book club
    • offer someone a lift
    • take a class and learning something new
    • rearranging the furniture
    • change your story
    • start a conversation with a stranger
    • become a volunteer
    • start a blog
    • go bowling. roller skating, or Bingo
The world is filled with millions of opportunities and adventures. Try one!

Doing things differently and learning new things introduces us to new people, opportunities, and experiences that may never come our way if we continue doing the same old thing.

Increase your luck, do something different!

    Until next time.

    Following My Bliss

I believe it was Joseph Campbell who said, "Follow your bliss".

As a Law of Attraction coach, I call it finding a way to feel good now.

Well today's post is about how I followed my bliss and practiced feeling good now.

I usually like to write my blog posts on Sunday as soon as possible.

My shop is closed on Sundays and that's the day I do all the things I need to do around the house, but first I like to get my weekly blog post written.

One Sunday a few weeks back, as I was out for my morning run, I realized it was going to be a beautiful day.

I thought about how much fun it would be to just call up my Sweetie and head out for a leisurely hike and enjoy the sunshine and blue skies. I spend a lot of time indoors, running my shop, and since winter is on the way, the thought of spending the whole day outdoors in the sunshine felt like bliss to me.

The more I thought about it, the more tempting it became.

I had a brief moment of indecision when I thought about my blog, and my housework, and wondered when I would be able to find the time to sit down and write something, especially since I still had no clue what I would write about and I always like to write something that feels inspired.

I decided to practice what I teach, and that is, to do what feels good now, go out and play, and trust it would all work out.

So I called up my Sweetie and he said he would pack us a lunch and come by and pick me up within the hour. (By the way, my Sweetie makes awesome sandwiches, too).

We headed out to a nearby lake, stopped for a cup of coffee, ate our lunch, went for a hike, and sat on a log in the woods enjoying the sunshine. It was such a beautiful day.

When I got back home later that evening, I still had no clue what I was going to write.

I turned on my laptop and picked up a notebook laying beside it and when I opened it up, there was a whole blog post, title and all, in my handwriting, that I had no recollection of ever writing.

I read it and thought, I love this, this is the perfect thing to write, when did I write this? Did it magically appear? I have no clue, but it definitely felt inspired. I easily typed it up and scheduled it to post.

How's that for following your bliss?

Find ways to follow your bliss, to feel good now.  Trust me, you'll be glad you did, and expect good things to happen.

    Until next time.

    Love and Luck.

    Choose Happy Thoughts

I don't know about you but I've always heard "think positive", or "keep a positive mental attitude".

On the other hand, I've also heard, "wake up and smell the coffee", "get your head out of the sand", and "face the facts".

    So which is it?

Since we have the freedom to choose, I like to choose thoughts that make me happy.

I believe our thoughts define our choices, choices lead to actions, (or non actions), and the actions, (or non actions), lead to our results.

For instance, let's talk about being "lucky" and winning sweepstakes.

A person who is "facing the facts", so to speak, might be thinking thoughts along these lines.
    • Nobody ever wins sweepstakes.
    • Some people are just born lucky and I'm not one of them.
    • Sweepstakes are just for show and advertising.
    • I've never won anything in my life.
    • The odds are so great you just can't win so why waste your time.
    • Buying a lottery ticket is a waste of money.
    • If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
Would a person thinking these kind of thoughts even bother to enter or buy a ticket?  Probably not, and of course they will prove themselves right, and never win. We all "know" you can't win if you don't enter or have a ticket.

    Thoughts=Choices=Actions=Results

Now I on the other hand prefer to choose thoughts that make me happy.
    Thoughts like:
    • Someone's going to win and it could be me.
    • I love winning, winning is fun!
    • If I can dream it, I can do it!
    • Facts can change, and they do.
    • Something wonderful is happening in my life.
And guess what? I've won! I've won trips, my Toshiba laptop, over $2,000 in cash, a shopping cart full of groceries, diamond rings and jewelry, Lenox fine china, and more.
    Some lottery winnings
Now that I have won so many different things, I have more happy thoughts to choose from like: I am lucky, I am a winner.

Sometimes it can be difficult to come up with happy thoughts when negative ones seem to be so plentiful.

One easy way I use to find happy thoughts is to ask myself, what would I be thinking if I were the winner, if I were lucky?

You can do this with anything you desire, including money, a job, your soul mate, or your health.

Just ask, what would I be thinking if I already had it?  Before you know it, you'll have a whole list of happy thoughts you can choose to think.

    Remember,
     Thoughts=Choices=Actions=Results

    Choose happy thoughts!

Until next time, Love and Luck.
